— Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

01

Is a POS device mandatory at charging stations?

Yes. Under the Turkish Charging Service Regulation, DC charging units must offer a card or contactless payment option. For DC units of 50 kW and above on motorways the obligation took effect on 1 July 2026; already-installed stations have until 30 June 2027 to comply.

02

Which protocols does the integration use?

The Vennex payment terminal integrates with your charge point management system (CPMS) over OCPP. OCPP 1.6-J or 2.0.1 support is sufficient, and units from different brands can be consolidated under one payment infrastructure.

03

How is payment taken when the amount is unknown upfront?

The terminal opens a pre-authorisation on the card when the session starts. Once charging completes, the real amount is calculated from consumed kWh and only that amount is captured; the remaining hold is released.

04

Does the driver need a mobile app membership?

No. That is the whole point of card acceptance: a driver can charge by simply tapping a card, with no app sign-up. Your existing RFID and mobile app flows continue to work in parallel.

05

Is the terminal built for outdoor use?

Yes. PAVO UN20, PAX IM30 and PAX IM25 terminals are designed for unattended outdoor use, protected against water and dust to IP65/IP67 and operating between -20°C and +70°C.

06

Is card data secure?

Yes. The terminals comply with PCI-DSS. Card data is never stored on the charge point or your servers; it is transmitted encrypted directly to the payment infrastructure.
